Little Footsteps Academy private pre-school and Kidventure after school program, provides an unparalleled educational experience for children in the Lakewood Ranch Area. We offer a creative campus for children to learn, play and socialize.

The first thing you notice when you visit Little Footsteps Academy is how colorful, warm and bright everything is. The second thing you notice is happy, smiling children. We offer hands on learning, using all senses to maximize the potential within each child.

Our NEW owner and director, Gina Shufeldt, has developed our campus around the idea that quality preschool education and child care should be homelike. From the array of age appropriate toys, child friendly classrooms, and the outdoor playgrounds, our facility offers an intimate atmosphere where a child can feel secure as they embark on their educational preschool journey.

We understand that each family is unique, and has different preschool needs; we offer full and part time schedules for all children, regardless of age. A child may come to Little Footsteps for only two half days or as many as five full days. We continuously monitor each child's response to his or her schedule to ensure that it is best for your child's current needs.

Campus Security: Your child’s safety and security is important to us therefore our building has a coded entry system and secure live online video monitoring which allows you to watch your loved ones when you are away from them.

Our Teachers: At Little Footsteps our teachers are experienced in early childhood development and education, and enjoy and understand how young children learn and grow. Our teachers model and communicate to children the appropriate ways to express themselves and interact and problem solve. Our teachers are committed to offering children a multi-cultural learning experience where each person is respected and valued. They ensure that all children enjoy their time spent with us, developing friendships, fine tuning social skills, learning from our activities, and most importantly, having fun!

Commitment to the Children: At Little Footsteps Academy we help children become active explorers and self-confident, independent and enthusiastic learners by stressing the process of learning and discovery through developmentally appropriate activities in a safe, secure environment. Children are also encouraged to make decisions, cooperate, take turns with others, practice listening, explore their environment and express, understand and handle their feelings.

Parent Involvement: At Little Footsteps Academy we see daily communication with parents very important. At the beginning and end of each day our parents receive verbal highlights of their child's day. Parents are welcome at any time to observe, have lunch, or just stop by for a hug. Everyone benefits through this interaction. You will find our teachers to be supportive of parents, and encourage parent involvement. Please feel comfortable at any time to share information with our teachers about your child's development, or any concerns you may have. We welcome suggestions on how we can better care for your child.
